NRL Q&A: Do the Bulldogs have enough in the middle?

Happy Sunday, subscribers.

We’ve taken a few questions through our social media channels and will be punching out extended answers for Premium Members. I’m touching on the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs here before digging into Jamal Fogarty v George Williams and Jack Bird’s possible move to #13 in the coming days. Oscar is also going to explore Valentine Holmes’ move into the centres.

Check the Live Blog for my quick thoughts on the move plus reaction to Jayden Bailey’s latest injury.

Also, we’re starting to put together a content plan for 2022. We’ve got plenty of ideas already but if there is anything you’d like to see more this season, get in touch here or flick me a message (@JasonNRL on all socials).

Cheers,

Jason

It’s all questions and very few answers at this point of the NRL season. Still, we’re going to answer a few while waiting for it all to kick off in March. This one comes from Instagram but you can submit your own questions here or through any of our social media channels.

The Bulldogs have obviously splashed the cash this year, but the majority seems to be on backs. Do you think that they have enough in the middle to make a serious shot at finals this year? – Skelt13 (IG)

It’s difficult to get right behind the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs pack but I think the doubts are slightly overblown at this stage. When they signed Matt Burton, Josh Addo-Carr, Brent Naden and Matthew Dufty it started to look as though they were focusing too much on scoring points rather than getting up the field. I was certainly scratching my head at the lack of recruitment through the middle. However, Paul Vaughan and Tevita Pangai Jr. are two excellent additions.
