Why did we shift to a subscription model?

“Paywall” is an offensive term within rugby league fandom. Most fans would rather not read what’s behind the wall than pay the $30 a month to, most likely, be angered by whatever it is.

You don’t get what you pay for in rugby league writing – we would like to change that.

We’ve added a subscription option to take Rugby League Writers to the next level.

It’s simple: more subscribers = more time = better content.

There will always be free NRL content on-site. Our socials will offer a regular glimpse behind the paywall too. But adding a subscription model allows us to invest in other areas to improve the site while also being able to dedicate more time to covering the greatest game of all.
