Changes at Rugby League Writers

The dust has settled on the 2024 NRL season, and behind it lays a few changes to Rugby League Writers.

Oscar scored a hat trick in 2024 and, as a result, has stepped away from RLW for the time being…

“As some of you may have noticed - and as Jase mentioned a few weeks ago - I’ve been in and out of the RLWriters first-grade squad over the last few months. Season 2024 has been a huge one for me personally; my wife and I ticked off the Big Three (marriage, pregnancy and mortgage) inside 12 months and we’ve both been busy preparing for the next chapter.” - Oscar.

That leaves me, Jason, to take it on as a solo project.

As you’ll have noticed by now, the website has changed. I moved it over to a different platform shortly after the Grand Final to take away a lot of the website dev tasks I don’t have a lot of time for on my own (I often let them slip to the side during the season anyway…). You can still access the old site here if you wish.

For free members, nothing has changed. Those who are Premium subscribers shouldn’t have to do anything differently. Everything appears to have transferred over as it should, and you can request a magic link to log into your account here to make any changes. If you notice anything strange, get in touch at [email protected].

The off-season is always inconsistent for content, but I have a few ideas already. I want people to be confident in RLW as a solo project before we kick it all off full noise again for Round 1 in 2025, so I’ll be working hard to instil that over the next few months.

I’ll continue to tinker with a few things here - feedback is always appreciated. Be sure to check out Oscar’s gear at RLW APPAREL, too.

It’s been a fun ride together. We’ve both learned a lot and benefited greatly from the site and the support. But the changes are exciting for us both and could yet translate into bigger and better things.

You can continue to support Oscar with RLW Apparel and in his work at Neds in 2025. He’s already said he will shout anybody he sees wearing one of his tee’s a beer, so get around him.

I’ll be around for the International Rugby League window before digging deep for interesting little nuggets to keep things going over the summer.
